The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes launches in North America on October 23rd, and it will be out in all major territories by October 24th. The 3DS title is heavily focused on multiplayer, so lots of players will be teaming up with friends online to play. However, your online partners will be limited. The team at Pocket Gamer has gone hands-on with the game before launch, and they’re reporting that online play is region-locked, so you’ll only be able to play with people from your own region.
This choice was likely made to help cut down on connection issues, but it means that North American gamers won’t be able to play with friends in Europe, Japan, Australia, or other regions. This will unfortunately limit the social potential of the game. What do you think of the decision? Leave your thoughts in the comments.
