Several years ago, Nintendo and Universal announced that they had teamed up to create a theme park based on Nintendo IP. That idea soon expanded into two and then three theme parks as Universal greenlit Super Nintendo World locations in Japan, Hollywood, and Orlando. Today Nintendo’s theme park reach grew once again, as Universal announced plans for a fourth Super Nintendo World park.
The newest Super Nintendo World to be announced will be built in Singapore. If you’re familiar with Universal, you may know that this means Super Nintendo World is now confirmed for all existing Universal theme park locations. Universal plans to open up three more theme parks (in China, Russia, and South Korea) in the future, but for now there’s just the four, and Nintendo is confirmed for all of them. Here’s a brief description of what you can expect:
“Super Nintendo World will be the 2nd area added, joining the plans to bring the world to life in all Universal Parks & Resorts. The area is set to bring the fun, characters, action and adventure of Nintendo games to life within a highly themed environment. Guests will enter an exciting world filled with highly themed attractions, shops and restaurants where they will feel as if they have stepped into a larger than-life Nintendo adventure. More details will be announced later.”
Universal Studios Singapore hasn’t had a major expansion since opening in 2010, but a Nintendo section (as well as a new Minions section) will change that by 2025.
