Pokémon GO is finally out in a few select countries (while the rest of the world waits for Niantic to stabilize their servers), giving thousands of fans the ability to catch Pokémon in the real world with augmented reality. Pokémon GO is inspiring lots of players to get out of the house and be more active. However, there have been some potential safety concerns.
Already we’ve seen
a police station and a hospital ask Pokémon GO players to stay out of restricted areas, and like any mobile game, people can be tempted to play while driving. Concerned about this possibility, the state of Washington’s Department of Transportation has tweeted out a message (and a cute GIF of Eevee) urging fans, “No Pokemoning from behind the wheel.” Catch ’em all, but be safe out there!
