Fans are patiently waiting for both Kingdom Hearts III and the remake of Final Fantasy VII, even though Tetsuya Nomura recently stated that neither games would be coming out in 2017. However, to tide us over in the meantime, Nomura revealed screenshots of both games at Magic Monaco 2017.

One Final Fantasy screenshot shows Cloud and Barret fighting the first boss of the game, whereas the other gives us a glimpse of the use of stealth mechanics with the new battle system. The remake is still sporting a command menu similar to the Kingdom Hearts series.

As for Kingdom Hearts, this new image shows us Guard Form, the new drive form, once again. Sora wields a shield in this form, and it appears he is fighting a giant boss in the city of Thebes from the world of Hercules, Olympus Coliseum. For those that have played 0.2 Birth by Sleep, we know this will be the first world Sora and the gang visit in Kingdom Hearts III. You can view all of these screenshots in the gallery below!

What do you guys think of these? Does this get you excited for Final Fantasy VII and Kingdom Hearts III? Feel free to express your hype in the comments below!

Our Verdict

Adam Sherrill
Writing is half of my life. Video games make up the other half. I decided to put these two hobbies together and join Gamnesia back in 2015. I spend most of my time working at a retail store and paying off my student debt. When I'm not getting stressed about the thousands of dollars I owe my loan providers, I play tons of video games (which just puts me into more debt). I'm also currently writing a novel in what little spare time I have. It's a story I've been wanting to write for a while, but I don't want to talk about it until I have most of it completed. Any Gamnesia-related inquiries may be sent to [email protected] Feel free to follow my personal Twitter if you want (@Pindlo). I mostly just retweet things.
