In 2012, Nintendo released the Wii U and has had tepid success since its launch. Despite an array of classic titles, the console never seemed to pick up steam and ended up selling poorly. With the Nintendo Switch on the horizon, it seems that the Big N has finally pulled the switch on Wii U. Yesterday, Nintendo officially announced that “Wii U production has ended globally.” Nintendo is focusing its full attention on Nintendo Switch’s launch in March, so it is no surprise to hear that Wii U has ended production globally. Hopefully Nintendo has more success with their next console.
