Years after its release on PC, mobile platforms, and virtually every console you can think of, indie mega-hit Minecraft still wasn’t available on any Nintendo platforms. When Microsoft bought out Minecraft developer Mojang, many thought it would never happen at all, but the sandbox title launched on Wii U last December.
In fact, the Wii U version of the game is even getting special treatment. Nintendo recently announced that
Minecraft Wii U: Edition is getting exclusive content in the form of Super Mario-themed textures, skins, and music. In response to a Twitter follower, Xbox boss Phil Spencer praised the partnership between the two companies and said that the Wii U version is performing well. Could we see the two companies continue to collaborate on Minecraft content in the future?
@YTMaxi Partnership with Nintendo on this has been great, nice to see Minecraft doing so well on the Wii U and to get the Mario content.
