In recent times, the lines between the Xbox One and PC gaming have been blurred, and there’s not that much keeping them apart, with peripherals being one of the few differences. However, Microsoft is looking to cross that divide as well; the Xbox platform team has been working on giving the Xbox One mouse and keyboard support, potentially leveling the game for shooters, strategy games, and more. However, don’t expect that you’ll be able to hook up your mechanical keyboard to your Xbox anytime soon, as Xbox boss Phil Spencer confirmed to PCGamesN that it would be coming months from now:

“I keep talking about it in the press and my platform team keeps shaking their head, because they… Truthfully in our dev kit modes now keyboard works, mouse support is a little bit further away. I say it because I know it’s not years away, it’s more like months away, but we don’t have an exact date yet.” — Phil Spencer
