Playtonic Games aims to revive the 3D platformer genre with Yooka-Laylee, a Kickstarter-funded spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie. Some of the staff members at Playtonic recently held an Ask Me Anything segment on Reddit, fielding questions from fans.
One concerned fan asked how big the game will be, asking if the $15 Kickstarter donation required to get a copy of the game was indicative of Yooka-Laylee‘s size as compared to Banjo-Kazooie. Creative lead Gavin Price gave a response that should excite fans.
“$15 is a special Kickstater price. The aim is, with the amazing support we’ve had from fans, to now make Yooka-Laylee bigger than Banjo-Kazooie.”
— Gavin Price
Yooka-Laylee has received incredible Kickstarter support, hitting its initial goal in less than an hour and smashing stretch goal after stretch goal ever since. Playtonic had previously revealed that each Yooka-Laylee level would be similar in size and scope to Banjo-Kazooie’s levels at first, but grow larger as more pages are collected.
