One of my most anticipated games of the year, the new God of War, is set to bring a fresh take on the franchise as it transitions from Greek to Norse mythology. While some may be skeptical of this decision, I’m excited to see what new life it brings to the franchise. Luckily, God of War fans like myself won’t have too much longer to wait. God of War launches on PlayStation 4 on April 20th!

Of course, as with most big releases, there will be a few different special editions available when God of War launches. In terms of physical releases, the smaller Special Edition sells for $130 and comes with a Kratos and Atreus statue, a cloth map, a few carvings, and a lithograph. The bigger Edition costs $150 and comes with everything in the previous tier in addition to a keychain, ring, and more carvings. This edition is exclusive to the United States and Canada, however. Both of these editions come with digital content, which can also be obtained in the Digital Deluxe Edition for $70.

You can always wait to pick up your copy, but as usual, there are some preorder bonuses you can take advantage of by ordering now. Preordering any edition at a participating retailer awards you three legendary skins for your shield. In addition to these skins, preorders at GameStop or EB Games also grant you the Luck of Ages XP Talisman, which provides increased XP gain, increased Hacksilver gain, and increased ability to trigger perks. Lastly, if you’re in the United States or Canada, preordering the Digital Deluxe Edition earns you a shiny, limited-run God of War physical lapel pin.

If you’re excited about God of War as I am, mark your calendars for the big day! In the meantime, make sure to check out the awesome new trailer above!
