To follow up the announcement of a new Monster Hunter game, Monster Hunter X, Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu has shared some details on what to expect from the next entry. Famitsu states that the game is already 60 percent complete and is expected to release in Japan this winter. Monster Hunter X will feature 14 weapon classes, which you may be familiar with: Great Sword, Long Sword, Sword and Shield, Dual Blades, Lance, Gunlance, Hammer, Hunting Horn, Switch Axe, Charge Blade, Insect Glaive, Bow, Light Bowgun, and Heavy Bowgun. There are also four Hunting Styles to go with every weapon:

– Sword and Shield x Hunting Style 2: The blade changes and has added effects.
– Great Sword x Hunting Style 3: A powerful Hunting Technique causes an explosion. Specializes in Hunting Techniques.

Four main monsters will appear in Monster Hunter X: a Brute Wyvern, a Flying Wyvern, a Leviathan, and a Fanged Beast. Capcom stated that players would be able to visit villages from previous Monster Hunter titles in Monster Hunter X, and they are Yukumo Village from Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, Pokke Village from Monster Hunter Freedom 2, and Kokoto Village from Monster Hunter/Monster Hunter Freedom. Verna Village is the main village for Monster Hunter X, however. There are also new fields: a primeval forest with intense vegetation, a vast grassland, and a cave.
