As 2016 winds down, it’s almost time to pick our favorite games that came out this year. For the past few years, The Game Awards has been the event that crowns gaming’s greatest achievements of the year, awarding titles such as The Witcher III: Wild Hunt and Dragon Age: Inquisition with “Game of the Year” in the past. There have also been gameplay reveals for titles like No Man’s Sky and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Now a time and place has been officially set for 2016’s Game Awards.

This year, the show will be held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on December 1st at 5:30 PM Pacific Time. Tickets for the event can be purchased here. The Game Awards will also be streamed on social media outlets, such as Twitter and Facebook, as well as YouTube, Twitch, PlayStation Network, Steam, and Xbox Live. It will also be available to watch with Virtual Reality devices through a partnership between The Game Awards and NextVR.

We’ll hear more about what games will become nominees within the next few weeks. What title do you guys think will win this year? Which games deserve the most recognition? Let us know in the comments below!

Writing is half of my life. Video games make up the other half. I decided to put these two hobbies together and join Gamnesia back in 2015. I spend most of my time working at a retail store and paying off my student debt. When I'm not getting stressed about the thousands of dollars I owe my loan providers, I play tons of video games (which just puts me into more debt). I'm also currently writing a novel in what little spare time I have. It's a story I've been wanting to write for a while, but I don't want to talk about it until I have most of it completed. Any Gamnesia-related inquiries may be sent to [email protected] Feel free to follow my personal Twitter if you want (@Pindlo). I mostly just retweet things.
